The world record attempt was made as a way to capitalize on Enclave’s large regular crowd, as well as a means of raising money for Imerman Angels, a non-profit organization that offers support to those touched by cancer.

“While looking through the newest edition of the Guinness World Records my nephew Griffin received for Christmas, I was struck with the idea that it would be such a great honor to break a record and be in this book,” says Enclave Director of Marketing Jennifer Pohl. “When I found the record for ‘most people wearing sunglasses in the dark’ and then saw the record set at 424 people, it seemed like the best fit possible and the most fun way to break a record.

For the record attempt, the Enclave staff supplied complimentary sunglasses to attendees interested in participating. The staff upheld certain requirements to ensure the world record attempt was legitimate.

“Guinness has very strict rules,” explains Pohl. “Each person had to wear their sunglasses for 10 minutes straight and not leave the area. We used clickers to count the people involved and had to count everyone that removed the sunglasses or left our site.”

In total, 671 people were counted wearing sunglasses in the dark.

“All good music should tell a story,” reads Tale Of Us’ Facebook page. “Tales of experience. Tales of joy. Tales of love lost and won. A tale of us.”

The Berlin-based production duo made up Matteo Milleri and Karm has a sound ranging between house and techno. The two met producers met while living in Italy, where Matteo came to from New York and Karm from Toronto.

2012 is sure to be a big year for Tale Of Us. In addition to this night at SpyBar, they will also be playing events like Detroit’s Movement Electronic Music Festival and Sonar Barcelona.
