North Coast Music Festival 2011 photo recap

The North Coast Music Festival‘s sophomore installment has come and gone, and it’s safe to say this year’s fest was a success.

Beautiful weather and a great crowd made for a long weekend of positive vibes in Chicago’s Union Park. Solid performances from acts like James Zabiela, David Guetta, SBTRKT, Rusko, Bass Nectar and more, along with amped up staging and lighting ensured not a dull moment was had at North Coast this Labor Day weekend.

Do312 North Coast Music Festival 2011 Toast of the Coast Contest

Do312 and the Northcoast Music Festival have announced the Northcoast Music Fest Toast of the Coast Contest.

DJs, producers and musicians are invited to post their work online at Do312.com, and three lucky winners will perform at the main stage of Northcoast 2011 on Labor Day weekend along with names like David Guetta, Fatboy Slim and Bass Nectar.

To enter, visit do312.com/ncmfcontest and upload an mp3, photo and short bio. Voting takes place July 1-15, at the end of which Do312 and the Northcoast crew will select the winners.

North Coast Music Festival adds more artists

The North Coast Music Festival yesterday announced more DJ/Producer additions to its Labor Day Weekend event in Chicago’s Union Park.

New additions are: Major Lazer, ATB, Fatboy Slim, Bass Nectar and James Zabiela. Previously announced acts like David Guetta and Wolfgang Gartner will also be accompanied by twenty more unannounced names.

North Coast Music Festival also announced yesterday some charitable acts that will perform at this years festival like The Arts of Life Band, a collaboration of disabled musicians; and the Chicago Public Schools’ after school program, the Intonation Music Workshop.

NCMF is actively seeking volunteers for security, clean-up, ticket booth and production runner. Interested candidates should consult http://www.northcoastfestival.com/get-involved/volunteer/. Three-day general admission to North Coast 2011 is available for $95 at ClubTix.com.
